Spotify Singles is the sixteenth extended play by Coldplay. It was released as a two-single EP exclusively for streaming service Spotify on 23 February 2022 and contains a live studio version of "Let Somebody Go", featuring American singer-actress Selena Gomez, from their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, as well as a cover of "Day 'n' Nite", originally from the American rapper and singer Kid Cudi.[1]

Background and release[]

Coldplay performed both EP tracks live at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, which were recorded and released on Spotify as part of the Spotify Singles, an exclusive series of original songs and covers by music artists.[2]

In addition to revisiting their original song "Let Somebody Go", in collaboration with singer Selena Gomez, the band also unveiled their take on Kid Cudi's 2008 single, "Day 'n' Nite", included on his debut mixtape A Kid Named Cudi (2008) and debut studio album Man on the Moon: The End of Day (2009).[3]

The EP was digitally released on Spotify on 23 February 2022 and marks the band's debut release on the Spotify Singles series.[4]
