"One World" is a song by Coldplay from their tenth studio album, Moon Music (2024).

Background and recording[]

Coldplay first performed "One World" live on the final night of the Music of the Spheres World Tour in São Paulo, Brazil, on 18 March 2023; on the occasion, Chris Martin explained to the audience that the aim of the song was to bring together one million voices on the same song across different cities on subsequent dates of the tour, with São Paulo being the first city they would record at with the collaboration of the 72 thousand attendees.[2]

The crowd was instructed to either sing the word “one” or hum in a C note in unison once a signal was given;[3][4] on March 28th, the band played the song and recorded the audience once again at the end of their final concert in Rio de Janeiro, although they stopped performing it on tour thereafter.

On 2 November, Coldplay posted on their socials a handwritten letter stating that Moon Music was “nearly finished” and inviting fans from around the world to add their voice to one of its future tracks, "One World".[5][6] The band set up a website that allowed fans to record themselves singing “Ahhhhh” in a C or G note in any octave for a few seconds and submit it to the platform from November 2nd to 13th.
