Background and composition[]

"Dallas Every Day" is an original song written especially for the city of Dallas and performed only once to celebrate the start of the U.S. leg of the Music of the Spheres World Tour; Chris Martin jokingly compared it to an NFT due to its exclusivity.[2]

Country-inspired sounding, the song features a guest appearance of the Austin-based musician Preston Wait, who plays the pedal steel guitar alongside the band on stage, and Chris singing it in a Texan accent while he references multiple Dallas' pop culture icons such as the sports teams Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks to singers Post Malone and Erykah Badu.

Lyrics[]

[Intro]
Two, three, four

[Verse 1]
Well, me and my band, we go from land to land
Today, we're touching down in the USA
We're starting on for tour, somewhere we've never started before
And we're starting there 'cause the crowd blows us away

[Verse 2]
Well, we're going to the home of Post Malone
And the good old girls and all the good old boys
Oh, then we road to the Cotton Bowl
Where they sure do know how to make a fuck of a lot of noise

[Chorus]
Oh, I'm in the Lone Star State
And I'm feeling fucking great
Playing where the Cowboys play
And the Mavericks, too
Erykah Badu
Oh, I wish I was in Dallas every day

[Interlude]
Take it, Preston
Three, four, and...
Keep it going
Keep it going, my brother
Chorus coming on

[Chorus]
Oh, I'm in the Lone Star State
And I'm feeling fucking great
I'm playing where the Cowboys play
Oh, and the Mavericks, too
And Erykah Badu
Oh, I wish I was in Dallas every day
Yeah, I wish I was in Dallas every day

[Outro]
Oh yeah, I wish I was in Dallas every day
Thank you, Preston
